Yay! And Maeve remembers I love birds!!! I had to sell or give away most of my birds but it's what we had to do to be able live in an affordable house. I don't have stable work yet after being made redundant in December 2012 and there are no jobs around!! Funnily enough though, since we left jws we can get by on way less money than when we were in. It's amazing how you can save when u don't have to buy meeting suits, pay for all that petrol, tolls, dry cleaning, lunches and all that jw crap.

Finally free of JWs!

it's in another congregation territory too so when they finally come knocking, they won't know i'm a dirty apostate when i tell them to put me on the do not call list.
problem is, the local discount supermarket across the highway is frequented by jws from my previous previous congregation!.

But all in all, we've achieved so much since leaving jws just over a year ago. Like, freedom,possibility, and the house we just moved into we own. Most jws around here rent cuz "the end is so close" and buying a house is materialistic.

I did it !!!!
by snare&racket in7 years ago i started on a path i had long ago given up on as impossible.
i met with my elders and told them i could not justify carrying on as a jw.
i went and got my high school qualifications and my higher education diploma (a levels with distinction) in just 12 months.

CO's & DO's age 70+ to be laid off on 9/1/14

friend from north carolina, he told me yesterday that they just got a letter that all traveling overseers (do's & co's) age 70 & up are going to be laid off on 09/01/2014.
they will be asssigned to local congregations and further details are pending.. .

seat saving: when the doors to the facility are opened each morning, please to not rush to the seating area of your preference as if competing with fellow attenders.
a self-sacrificing spirit that moves us to seek the good of others identifies us as true christians and moves onlookers to praise god.. ................................................................ i personally don't recall them previously making reference to the jw-version of the "running of the bulls" that takes place every morning when the doors open at 8:00 a.m. have seen it myself many times, it's always good for a laugh.

It always annoyed me no end that business about saving seats only for your car group or family. I always went by myself on the bus and had no jw family so technically I had to wander around and find a seat by myself. Someone always saved me one though, because everyone thought it harsh that not only did I have to go by myself but I couldn't sit with a friend either! Very occasionally someone in my cong would offer me a lift to the dc with their family, omg look how loving the organization is!!!
